New BeNext Android App
Yesterday we performed our scheduled service maintenance. It took longer than expected, other than that it went fairly smooth. Everything is again working as intended. We would like to thank you for your patience during the maintenance.

New BeNext Android App

We have made a new Android app with the main goal to replace the old app.

Starting today we will not be supporting the old app with new features or other upgrades. The old Android app will still be available in the Google Play store until further notice.
The new “BeNext Smart Home” includes a completely reworked design with the latest features and updates from BeNext.

What’s new?

Besides having all of the features you are familiar with, there are plenty of new features to get excited about as well:

  • Customizable main screen
  • Live Energy support
  • Fully customizable push notifications

We are always working on improving the app. Go to our Roadmap to see what is in store for the new app.

iOS

We are also working on a new iOS app. It is still in development, but it is already available in the App Store for you to try out. If you are using push notifications you need to use this new app.

Coming soon: New apps

 

We have new beta apps for Android and iOS. We would like to inform you on these latest developments, because the beta apps will replace the current apps in the near future.For the past couple of months we have been busy developing a new, innovative and responsive redesign. In it we have combined our most important values: Control, Comfort and Innovation. With these thoughts in mind we redeveloped the most important features and made them easier to use.  

Your home, your features

The newest addition to the app is the fully customizable main screen. Customize your start up screen to your personal preferences with your favorite features. Of course, all of the familiar features from the current app are available as well.

iOS and Android

The iOS version of our new app is still in development and not quite as complete as the Android version. You can already check out the app in the App Store.
Important: Only the new iOS app can handle push notifications, it is not possible to receive push notications for the old app anymore. You can still use the new app next to the old app.

Faster loading times, Longer names and Better generic support

 

Every day we get tons of feedback from our users on how to improve our system. We would like to thank you this valuable information. Not only do we appreciate the feedback, we are also continuously working to integrate your feedback into our system. Your satisfaction is our SUCCESS!

To show our appreciation, we have been working to add some of the most requested features over the last few months. So no special offers or gimmicks, just better usability!

Faster loading times


Do you like to wait? We neither! Then why did we let you wait for your energy graphs?You didn’t like it and neither did we. This is why we revised our energy infrastructure from the ground up in order to lower these loading times. The result: Up to 12 times faster loading times for all energy graphs!
You don’t have to set up anything to get these speed ups. Just open the app, go to Energy and effortlessly scroll through all of your usage history.

Longer names


Starting today, it is possible to enter longer names for your Products, Scenes and Rooms. This way you won’t have to worry about mixing up your Kitchen light and your Kitchen alarm when you come home late at night.

 

Go ahead and edit the names of your Products,Scenes and Rooms.

Better generic support


Some third party Z-Wave products are not yet fully support in our system. That is why we offer our “Generic product” service for these “unknown” products
We have given this service an upgrade to make it even easier to install unknown products. During installation you now choose a single Generic product. This product will automatically create the most important sensors and switches for your convenience.

Besides an easier installation we also offer smoother generic product integration into our Rule system. All generic products will automatically be added to our Security, Control and Energy screens.

iHome→ BeNext-iHome→BeNext

Starting from January the first we will be presenting ourselves solely as BeNext. We will no longer use the domain name iHome.eu. BeNext.eu is now the official site for all your home automation products. Please update your bookmarks if necessary.

Our products will only be produced under the name of BeNext, although it is possible that products with iHome name might still be circulating.

More third party products are now fully supported by our system. The Motion Sensor and the Smoke Sensor from Fibaro are now fully integrated. We have also focused on the climate products from Secure for the cold winter months.
